RapidFireWall

The RapidFireWall is Mercia Industrial's flagship flexible partitioning system, engineered for busy manufacturing and warehousing environments that demand adaptability without sacrificing safety. Constructed from heavy-duty industrial-grade PVC curtain panels suspended on a robust steel tracking system, it can be deployed, repositioned, or removed in a fraction of the time required for traditional fixed partition walls. The system is available in fire-retardant grades meeting BS EN 1021 and LPS 1207 standards, making it suitable for use in environments where fire safety is a regulatory requirement.

Unlike permanent stud walls, the RapidFireWall installs in hours rather than days, causing minimal disruption to ongoing production. The steel overhead track is ceiling-mounted and can be configured in straight runs, L-shapes, or U-shapes to enclose any footprint. Panels overlap to create a seal that effectively contains dust, noise, and temperature variation between zones, helping facilities comply with health and safety legislation without permanent structural commitment.

The system is particularly valued by facilities managers who need to create temporary cleanrooms, segregate production lines, or partition off hazardous areas during refurbishment. With a lifespan exceeding 15 years under normal industrial conditions, the RapidFireWall delivers exceptional return on investment compared with brickwork or plasterboard alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does installation take?+
A typical RapidFireWall installation covering a 10 m run can be completed in a single working day by our two-person installation team, with no need to halt production on your site.
Can the system be relocated if we reorganise our facility?+
Yes. The entire system is demountable — the track, panel hardware, and panels can all be uninstalled and reinstalled in a new location. Many customers do this multiple times over the product lifetime.
Is RapidFireWall suitable for food production areas?+
We offer food-safe grades of PVC panel that comply with EC 1935/2004 food contact regulations. These are popular with bakeries, meat processing plants, and cold-store facilities.
Does the system require planning permission?+
In most cases, no. Because the RapidFireWall is non-structural and fully demountable, it typically falls under permitted development. However, we always recommend confirming with your local authority if your building is listed or in a conservation area.
