RapidSlider

The RapidSlider is Mercia Industrial's retractable fabric wall system, providing on-demand space division that can be opened or closed in seconds. Unlike fixed or semi-permanent partition systems, the RapidSlider operates on an overhead sliding track that allows heavy-duty industrial fabric panels to be stacked neatly at one or both ends of the run when not needed, returning the full floor space to single-zone use. This makes it the ideal solution for facilities that need to divide space during certain shifts or operations but require full open-plan access at other times.

The RapidSlider fabric panels are available in a range of specifications from lightweight acoustic mesh to heavy-duty 680 gsm reinforced PVC suitable for industrial environments. The panels hang from engineered trolley carriers on powder-coated steel track and can be operated by a single person with minimal effort, even on runs exceeding 30 metres. Optional motorised operation is available for very wide spans or facilities where frequent cycling is required.

The system excels in environments such as multi-use warehouses, logistics hubs that handle different client stock in the same building, manufacturing facilities with shift-based production changes, and sports or events spaces that share premises with industrial tenants. The RapidSlider has no floor channels or fixed walls, so forklift operations are never obstructed, and the system leaves no permanent marks on the building fabric.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can the RapidSlider be opened and closed?+
A standard 10 m run can be fully opened or closed by a single operator in under 60 seconds. Motorised systems covering 30 m run complete the same operation in around 90 seconds with no manual effort.
Will the RapidSlider withstand forklift impact?+
The track system is ceiling-mounted and the fabric panels, while robust, are designed to yield under accidental impact rather than causing structural damage. We recommend adding forklift guide posts in high-traffic areas as a precaution.
Can I use the RapidSlider to divide a space used for different clients or tenants?+
Yes, this is one of the most popular use cases. The RapidSlider provides a clear, visible boundary between zones, can incorporate lockable panel systems, and allows the full space to be shared when tenancy arrangements change.
What is the lead time from order to installation?+
Standard configurations are typically designed, manufactured, and installed within 3–4 weeks of order. Bespoke motorised systems may require 6–8 weeks. We always confirm lead times at the quotation stage.
